Welcome to Ann’s Orchard, the needlework company I founded in 2013, after leaving a long career as a molecular biologist, to devote myself entirely to my lifelong passion for textiles. The fascination for colours, textures and the very simple pleasure of making something unique by hand began when I was tiny and is still my motivation today. I really believe in using the very best quality materials to create designs that both reflect the best of traditional work whilst adding a contemporary twist. My scientific background makes me quite experimental so projects often involve unusual techniques which may encourage you to take your own work in a completely new direction! So whether you have a lifetime of stitching experience or you are a complete beginner I really hope there is something that catches your eye….
