Yarn Bombing in the Octopus Garden

Finally all my spreadsheets are finished, I can hand them over to my accountant and I can get back to doing what I love best, creating with yarns and threads.

But first, a day trip to Chichester and the Pallant House Art Gallery. What a delight, a Queen Anne house and modern art gallery showcasing some of the best 20th century art with ever changing exhibitions as well as studio space for teaching, library and bookshop.

My favourite works….Self-portrait with hyacinth in pot 1947 – 1948 by Lucien Freud and girls with their hero 1959 – 1962 by Peter Blake. These paintings are so beautifully executed and the level of detail really draws you into both images – I’m afraid the photographs don’t do the artists justice.

The visit concluded with a coffee in the Octopus Garden and some quite ‘bonkers’ yarn bombing that covered virtually every surface! A great day out and well worth a visit if you are in the area.
