Speedy Pom Pom Christmas Wreath
Do you, like me, suffer from an addiction to wool?
It really is quite ridiculous the quantity of yarn that accumulates in my home. Both of my children are now at University but are quite horrified when they come home to find the wool stash has started creeping into their empty bedrooms and even into the freezer - I am quite paranoid about moths and the most precious wool has to spend a few weeks in the deep freeze!
Anyway … I thought it probably best that some of this excess yarn be put to good use and so made a very simple pom pom wreath last week using some balls of acrylic double-knit, a few baubles and simple metal frame I found in Hobbycraft.
I’ve jotted down the instructions, including a guide to make super speedy pom poms, so you can whip this up and added to your Christmas decorations in a jiffy.
My example uses two shades of green yarn, but just use whatever is in your stash and any spare baubles and trimmings. Combining yarn colours and weights should create speckled pom poms in a variety of textures. Alternatively choose colours to complement your existing decorations.
If you would like to have a go, just click on the picture above for a PDF pattern. In the meantime I have a bathroom floor to tile but I’ve also an idea brewing for some bunting so, if I get a chance, I’ll send a pattern for that as well - keep your eyes open for another email shortly.
